Former Brighton winger Ansu Fati has joined French club Monaco on loan from Barcelona.
The 22-year-old spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Brighton, scoring four times, before returning to Barcelona where he made 11 appearances last season.
But the Spain international might have played his last game for his boyhood club, with Monaco having the option to buy him at the end of the season for £9.4m.
Fati is Monaco's third summer signing, following England defender Eric Dier and 2018 French World Cup winner Paul Pogba, both of whom arrived on free transfers.
Born in Guinea-Bissau, Fati made his professional debut with Barcelona at the age of 16 and scored on his first start for Spain aged 17.
He played 123 matches for the club, scoring 29 goals, and won two league titles.
