Former Hibernian club captain and current women's coach Joelle Murray has been named Athletic Club's 2025 One Club woman.

The annual accolade, awarded by the Basque side, is a celebration of iconic players who have dedicated their careers to a single team.

Murray, 38, played for the Easter Road side from 2004 until 2024 to become their longest-serving player before moving into life as a coach, winning the Scottish Women's Premier League twice, the Scottish Cup seven times and the Scottish League Cup on five occassions.

"Her prolific career made her an icon of Scottish football," said an Athletic statement.

"She earned 48 caps for the national team, taking part in Euro 2017 and World Cup 2019 - the Scottish women's team's first two appearances in major international tournaments."

Murray joins an illustrious list of previous winners of the One Club Woman Award including:

  • Malin Moström (Umeå I.K., 2019)

  • Pia Wunderlich (1.FFC Frankfurt, 2020)

  • Jennifer Zietz (1. FCC Turbine, 2022)

  • Mati Martínez (Fundación Albacete, 2023)

  • Maria Gstöttner (USV Neulengbach, 2024)

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher is the recipient of the men's award for 2025.

The pair will receive their awards before the La Liga match between Athletic Club and Girona FC on Tuesday.
